410 000 handgun rounds have been impossible to buy on the normal market for the last 2 years. Like manufacturers were ordered cease production??
Well now a substitute from Hornaday.
OR for the tender-hearted. "Less Lethal Ammunition".

www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/meetthepressblog/poll-gun-ownership-reaches-record-high-american-electorate-rcna126037I found this interesting - look at the four bar graphs partway down. From '04 to '13 gun ownership surged in the Independents while dropping slightly in both the Dem and Republican groups. Then from '13 to '19 there was a surge among the Republicans and a return to '04 levels among the Dems while the Independents sprung back a little. Nothing really surprising honestly. But then from '19 to '23 the DEMOCRATS have surged - from 33% to 41%. Overall everyone is up from the '04 levels, with the largest proportional gain among *Democrat* households. The article also notes that overall there are now more households with at least one firearm than without. I personally doubt this will change the gun control landscape; those pushing that agenda have long felt safe behind their bodyguards, and of course if the average Democrat voter wasn't willing to vote away their own rights they'd be a Republican. Nor do I think this will have much effect on crime - the average Dem probably bought a cheap pistol, one box of ammo, and PERHAPS shot one magazine once at a range. They probably didn't even buy a holster and have no plan for rapidly accessing their firearm even in their own home. What I think this does show is that there IS an increasing understanding that "things aren't working". Defund the police. Release inmates so they don't get COVID. Don't put murderers on trial. Let in all those illegal immigrants. Call theft "reparations." Etc. Somehow, after all those wonderful Progressive reforms... the Old School Democrats feel less safe. I'm not sure things have reached the point where Dems have *connected* the fact that they feel less safe with the various "reforms" they've supported, but hopefully that will come.

So ... how many Dems live in or near "the Hood"? The foraging range of the Hood seems to have expanded. Our Hood is relatively small. Had a home security salesman drop by for a pitch. Said his best sales came out of areas bordering the hood. So far mostly midnight car bandits. No data, but the Double-Aught Insurance Agency probably does a brisk business. Hard on wood work though. Sympathy may decline directly with the perceived level of abuse. Many traditional Dems are not totally stupid.

A semi-auto doesn't have to look like it belonged to Sylvester Stallone. I note that the price of this baby has gone up a bit in the last few years.
