California’s emissions regulatory death spiralFrom an Australian perspective, it’s probably handy that California is ‘leading the charge, showing us the way forward’ as it were, into a climate driven financial catastrophe of their own making, by continued demonisation of fossil fuels & their sole intent of shutting down all emissions (CO2 – that minuscule, invisible, tasteless, odourless atmospheric trace gas necessary for life on this planet) from the oil industry inclusive of oil production & manufacturing, ie, refineries.
California’s suicidal regulatory death spiral in favour of the unreliables as their primary future energy source will be an awe-inspiring example, worthy of all western democracies to follow, like lemmings over the proverbial cliff.
But who among our political community is listening? Precious few unfortunately & those few who are, are not (yet) in power. But that will change soon enough as daily cost of living expenses continue surge beyond all expectations, driving inflation even higher, forcing manufacturing off-shore & collapsing those few industries who remain, no longer able to meet huge increases in energy costs.
Australia was once the Lucky Country with energy costs among the cheapest in the world. Not anymore. We’re now out there helping lead the charge to see who can be the dearest! Rank stupidity of the first order.

I don’t remember who appointed these people to rule the earth. It seems as if the only qualification to determine who's wise enough to be a member of this august body is exorbitant amounts of money and free time.

When you get a suit like that you can start making the rules.

Ratty, you forgot the eye patch! Monocle on one eye and patch on the other. At least AI will have no problem making these a$$holes obsolete.

Reality continues: oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/JP-Morgan-Warns-of-Delay-to-Global-Energy-Transition.html“Malek was the lead author of a new report by JP Morgan focusing on energy. The report noted higher interest rates, inflation, and the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East were all factors acting as setbacks for the transition. The report—and Malek’s FT interview—coincided with another report, by Reuters, quoting Rystad Energy analysts as warning about the negative effects of higher interest rates on wind and solar energy developers.”

Net zero is what they're going to get.

If anyone doesn't know about, or hasn't seen Clarksons Farm on amazon.
Watch it.
The guy is a TV production genius.
