Sigurdue, China is not going to surge past us basing the vast majority of their economy building empty cities and praying real estate values keep going up. Our day of reckoning is coming but I think China is going to have to work through some fundamental economic principles before they do... Agree 100%

It seems that it would take a lot of coal to keep the Chinese population from becoming cold...

A Social Legend is born in China A man trying to rebuild his house for himself and his elderly mother is refused permission by his rich neighbor with the help of the local government for many years. The man finally "goes wacko" and kills his neighbor. He then goes on the run and is tracked down and killed by the police after a 5-day chase. His story apparently hit a nerve with the Chinese public which are used to being abused by their local government. Another article described his neighbor as rich with a 4-story house. Locals suspect foul means to acquire his land by denying him the right to build on it. www.eastidahonews.com/2021/10/a-murder-suspect-who-gained-wide-public-sympathy-has-died-after-a-week-on-the-run/

China embargoed Australian coal.. The dumbs_its now have to buy it "on the sly" at high prices. Can't admit to being wrong. Seems that Xi is not so smart afterall.

The Chinese do not like to "lose face". They tried to bully Australia around economically with a coal embargo and it led to rolling blackouts. Now instead of kissing and making up they are buying the same Australian coal at a premium from other nations. Going to be a long cold and dark winter in China.
It has had a real effect on me. One of my side hustles is a small crab trap production facility. I build crab traps for both the recreational and commercial fishing industry and supply several retail outlets. I take pride in the fact that the wire mesh I use for these traps is manufactured right here in Houston, Texas. Well so I thought. While the vinyl coated wire mesh is "Made In America" most of the raw steel comes from China. My current supplier is out and won't be manufacturing anymore until the new year at the earliest.
I am glad it's not my only source of income because I have passed on multiple price increases and now I am completely out of product.
