What would a Viner use? ... if not a vine?

What would a Viner use? ... if not a vine? If only you'd said: David entwined himself with too many malignant vines, I would have woken up straight away. I would. Really.

That's the stratospheric warming, or at least initial stage. It's what happens next that will tell us more....

I've never heard of a southern hemisphere SSW event, Mr. Code. Are they rare or just not reported? Can they affect weather north of the equator?

I've never heard of a southern hemisphere SSW event, Mr. Code. Are they rare or just not reported? Can they affect weather north of the equator? There's been 2 recorded, I don't think there's much teleconnention between north and south hemisphere in atmosphere due to coriolis force and ITDZ. For example, no hurricane, typhoon or cyclone has ever crossed the equator!
