I've never heard of a southern hemisphere SSW event, Mr. Code. Are they rare or just not reported? Can they affect weather north of the equator?

There's been 2 recorded, I don't think there's much teleconnention between north and south hemisphere in atmosphere due to coriolis force and ITDZ. For example, no hurricane, typhoon or cyclone has ever crossed the equator! |

Good lord....I've not seen depth of orange like that for northern hemisphere 😲 Maybe a major SSW about to occur?? Edit: Internet seems quiet on the subject, maybe data glitch??  |

Looking at the pressures where things are going crazy that being 1hPa up to 30hPa that's the Stratosphere where HT deposited the water is this linked??
