This is just the start of what will be a record-breaking winter season throughout the Northern Hemisphere for wind, precipitation and cold temperatures. The length of the winter will extend to early May 2022 before I consider winter 2021/2022 to be officially over. (Forget early spring 2022 by the way.) I don't know if anyone has noticed, but it ain't been cooling in the Eastern regions of ENSO recently. Last 2-3 weeks warming at surface has been clear.

I've been kinda wondering what's going on....Doc V seems sure the tide is about to turn, and then consider that strong cold subsurface ⬆️

Maybe about to get interesting...?

I'd agree to a point....it nailed the 2018 beast from the east in Europe more then 10 days out.

All models are worthless as tits on a boar outside of about 10 days. Poor from 3-7 and pretty darn good inside of 3 days...

I still contend the NE is well within my normal experience and expectations. Certainly have seen cold earlier than this year.
