Forecast predicts cool temps to return after Saturday here. So we had about a week of typical summer temps this year. I myself have not seen a temp of over 98 F. Please remind me where "here" is Mr. Walnut. Hint

I note that the European is cooler than the GFS. I also note that seems to be more common than not. Does anyone have any data on whether the GFS is biased warm in its 10 day predictions?

No data but a bit of confusing general opinion I've noted. Yes it tends to go warm in the medium term, but underplays temps in the short term.

Thanks Mr. Rat! Even I can figure out Mr. Walnut's location from that clue. Yes, that's it. And today I saw 100 F briefly while driving through the small heat island of Muskogee, OK. Cool temps to return Sunday, and might persist for a couple of weeks.

You're going to need it to pay Joe for food and gas.

The UAH lower troposphere temperature anomaly for the Globe jumped in July to +0.20C. Assumed continued lagged rebound from ENSO rebound prior to next decline.

It's flooding around our Tucson desert home. The local fire department rescued 3 people from their vehicle which was swept down a normally dry river bed behind our house. This is the continuation of a very wet and unusually stormy period.
I can hardly wait until the July numbers are recorded so I can send them to my Professor friend at Arizona University who has predicted a super dry summer due to global warming. The July rainfall numbers for Tucson are in. I'm going to tell my University of Arizona professor friend who predicted a super dry summer that he needs to admit that the models at a minimum are useless.

I have little doubt the explanation for the extra water will be that a warmer atmosphere holds more water and that although drier would be expected extremes are also a sign of GW.
