notrickszone.com/2021/07/20/welt-commentary-germany-flood-catastrophe-made-possible-by-inconceivable-ignorance-unbelievable-scandal/“The risk was known: Rainfall like this week’s has happened repeatedly in Germany, historical chronicles read like blueprints for the current flood disaster, and hazard maps show the flood risk. Yet politicians, authorities and the media point to climate change as the cause – while disaster protection in Germany is at the level of a developing country. An unbelievable scandal. At least 156 people have died because of heavy rain in Germany. Rain had fallen in amounts that have always been expected in Germany and have been an occasional occurrence since time immemorial. The same places that have been devastated by floods of rain this week have been hit in a similar way in the past, as chronicles show.”

Anyone know of a source for rainfall events during the 'coming ice age' scare of the seventies?

Anyone know of a source for rainfall events during the 'coming ice age' scare of the seventies? Don't immediately find any good summaries. Doesn't mean there aren't any. Wikipedia shows European floods by event/location by year. There appears to be a peak in the 1960s and another peak in 2009-10. My Indian Monsoon records shows much greater variance from 1960-85.

Forecast predicts cool temps to return after Saturday here. So we had about a week of typical summer temps this year. I myself have not seen a temp of over 98 F.

Pleasant. The Alps continue to accumulate extreme weather. This time Lake Como with rain-induces landslides and flooding. Some serious pictures here. Also some metrics by year of hailstorms becoming more frequent and intense over the last few years. One official describles it as "a trend toward tropicalization". I would suggest the opposite ... a trend toward polarization. Pavlovian heat on the brain. news.yahoo.com/huge-hailstones-force-shut-italian-141433195.html
