Summer Surface Pressures over the Azores continue to decline in relation to Iceland. Hence an increasingly negative NAO. Values for July and August have never been this low in the timeseries that goes back to 1865. Might be related to the European Weather we have seen this summer. Winter patterns seem to be setting up for something potentially dramatic (conjecture on my part). Well done Missouri, first I've seen of such information. Stunning graphic!

Leaves are starting to change colour in UK.
Started seeing some yellow Leaves Saturday, this morning it certainly seems to be not just one species and though still subtle, much more widespread since the weekend.
We've been cloudy for some time now, August has been one of the cloudiest in South UK. Some brief research shows tree chlorophyll needs sunlight to propagate, it seems the reduced sunlight hours is fooling them into thinking its later in the year then it is.
For comparison, we often visit Croatia late September, the difference in colour is noticeable once we return early October.
If leaf fall occurs early this year, it must rank amongst some of the shortest seasons in memory? Trees leafed late this year as a cool spring pushed leafing into late May.

There is nothing wrong with conjecture *provided you identify it as conjecture*. Which missouriboy has indeed done, and the bad guys generally do not.

Every time they drop an outlier as determined by them, it's conjecture

Here in SE Texas the summer has been mild by our standards. June was .06 below normal. July was 1.1 below normal. August was .06 above normal. I'm probably going to curse our run of milder weather but Houston has not had a 100 degree day since August 29th 2020. It's till damn near unbearable with highs in the mid to upper 90's but we will take a "cooler" summer any way we can get it. spacecityweather.com/summer-is-almost-over-and-truth-be-told-it-wasnt-a-terrible-one/

Lived in Houston many years ago for a few months with the humidity most folk jogged at midnight and partied after about 8pm
Great lifestyle but working, impossible. Hotter than Brisbane. I thought anyway.

I do find it a little bit odd that many towns in North Dakota had more 100 degree days than we did in Houston, Texas this year and a few of the days in February were colder down here that it was up there. I guess I will chalk that up to a more meridional jet most likely caused by the solar minimum.
But then again I do not feel sorry for Sigurdur and his fellow North Dakotan's, the humidity up there is next to nothing and night time lows quite comfortable even during the July heat wave.

It has been said that when it comes to a combination of heat and humidity it is one of the worst places to live on earth!

Houston has the most debilitating combination of heat and humidity that I have ever felt. It is sometimes just almost too much.

Could be in Guam. Temperatures don't vary much. 80-90 with 75-95% humidity.
Houston Temperatures get higher tho, correct?
