Phy Wait, wait just a min now. You do know that they had very gassy oxen and horses doing a lot of hard work. Not to mention the high energy foods the pioneers needed to to consume to climb the Sierras. Too bad they ran out of the food stocks when they got to Donner {Truckee ). Of course they did lower their carbon footprint by eating available food stocks.

We have been experiencing near record warmth here in SE Texas. My body is in shock, I don't know if I should be drinking lighter summer beer or a more modest Oktoberfest normal for this time of year.

Here on the coast it is hot today, but the models look like summer will end tomorrow. Highs in the 50s by weekend.

Colorado snowpack is WAY above median for this time of year.

I am no expert on Sierra Nevada snowpack but it looks to be off to a banner start and this was taken 4 days ago before the latest atmospheric river event dumped a bunch more.

With a little more searching I found a video more current from October 25th. Looks like they have feet of snow already.

The fatalists didn't give up on the drought until the reservoirs overflowed and the Sierra snowpack had April depths at Christmas. Then they start publishing stories about how the "wild weather swings" are more evidence of the existential threat posed by CO2. They can't seem to get their arms around the concept of natural cycles.

No. And they (the true believers) won't because it doesn't jive with their preconceived notions of what should be. There are also "social-political" cycles they might bo wise to look at. Some are fairly benign and the true believers fade away into some other movement. Others are quite violent, with counter movements eating the losers.
