Has been warm and dry in Upper Midwest. Geese must have noticed, as no flocks of consequence observed. My winter prediction is cold and snow up here. 'cold and snow' in Winter? You're going out on a limb there, Sig.

Here we go again. Logging stopped again due to wet weather. This is very unusual for this time of the year. We are getting rain that happens in November. October gives us clouds and misty rains. November a bit more rain and colder temps. Our winter usually starts early December with lows in the 30's and highs in 40's. September and early October has already produced frosts and rains for us this year. We already called off fire season a month earlier than usual. Good for our forests and our waterways. We have had enough rains to start our pastures growing again and I have stopped feeding hay to the beef. Very unusual.

I am enjoying the fact that you are able to pasture your livestock, not depleting your hay resources. Sorry about the logging disruption tho.
We have received approx 6" of rain in the past 10 days. Would not know this if the gauge didn't indicate it. We were somewhat dry. NOT historically dry, yet dry. The rain provides hope for 2022 production. (Price of fertilizer provides a huge downside).

You will remember that 1962 was also a solar cycle minimum going into low-cycle 20.
