Found this database on a Federal site. Supposedly the entire North, South and Tropical Atlantic. The positive AMO is still there. But look at the South Atlantic. Monster drop that mirrors what happened in 2012. Same location on the solar cycle. Analysis?
If it is significant, its not correlating with my experience with weather at my location. Colder then some past winters but not anything like during/around the last minimum. But then that might just be me?

Share the goat sate is the way to eat it, actually you can eat rodent as sate, sorry Ratty.
What I see is a lot of flux in the various data coming in and I would be reluctant to predict outcomes currently, MB is brave.

Its really a question relating to mixing. cold water stays on top if the salinity is low otherwise it sinks.
Its a great headline but I think this could as easily be a sign of Arctic ice melting or similar.

Cold pool developing....found a spot at -9°c anomaly! N Labrador current. Trying to remember the last time that went cold. Not so many years ago. Some say it is one of the preferred paths for drainage of the Beaufort Gyre? Or just Greenland Ice melt.
This spring is shaping up cooler (and here. drier) than normal in many northern hemisphere locations. Here, normal April precipitation is 4.5 inches. April 2023 precipitation was 0.5 inches. Climate is defined as the average accumulation of weather over particular periods of time. Such periods come with their own accumulations of variance ... usually highest in the transition years. If this ends up being one of those transition years, then weather variance (from normal) is certainly acting like its drifting colder for now. Cold spring (shoulder season) seemingly in many locations. I like electroverse because it lists weather variance in specific locations that I would otherwise never see. And variance certainly seems to be up on the colder side.
And if the oceans go cooler ... then so will weather.

My observations suggest that, when flux goes up, averages proceed in the direction of the flux. If it lasts long enough, it becomes climate.
