Since I reside in The People's Republic of New York, this SCOTUS case coming before the court today has huge implications for my Constitutional Rights. Interestingly, State Media hasn't been talking about this very important case. Jonathan Turley is not a conservative but he's not a liar either: jonathanturley.org/2021/11/02/the-supreme-showdown-bruen-has-this-makings-of-a-major-second-amendment-victory/"Of course, the Court could have accepted the case to simply amplify its agreement with the Second Circuit, but I would not count on it. It is like the scene in Braveheart when William Wallace said that he was going to “pick a fight” with the British when others were looking for a compromise. That came as little surprise to his main lieutenant Hamish who shrugged and added “Well, we didn’t get dressed up for nothing.”

Some will not and the law provides for that. But you cannot take away those rights from all/most because a few do not measure up. Same thing goes with Covid mandates.

I was able to listen to a good amount of the oral arguments today. The lawyer for the pro 2nd amendment side gave a great presentation in his responses to the justices' questions. The conservative justices asked very good questions probing both sides position. This is a big deal case but we won't know until spring if SCOTUS has the cojones to make an unambiguous ruling that dramatically changes the laws governing pistol licensing in several major blue states. There's always hope.

www.wibw.com/2021/11/06/fifth-circuit-stays-osha-covid-19-vaccine-mandate-day-after-lawsuit-filed-sixth-circuit/"Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt says the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has issued an order to stay President Joe Biden’s Administration’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration COVID-19 vaccine mandate, which covers private businesses with 100 or more employees." "On Friday, Nov. 5, AG Schmidt filed a separate lawsuit in the Sixth Circuit along with six other states." Any bets on whether the Supremes will take the case, and what they'll decide if they do?

I remember hints(?) from our newest Supreme to someone on this issue ... to not go there. They could well find that the mandate was within Presidential powers without ruling on its other aspects. But slavery was also previously pronouned legal by the Supremes prior to the Civil War. Supreme pronouncements are just that ... interpretations of Constitutional legality. Change the situation on the ground and that interpretation has no effect.

The injunction sets the tone and it certainly wasn't favorable to the Administration.
