Chasing rabbits into and out of holes.
Roy Spencer's chart shows the overwhelming evidence for the fact that climate models vastly over-predict global warming. This was also evident from the IPCC report I posted earlier. It's no secret to anyone who is interested. Why does it continue?

The scientific method has been eliminated. Observation no longer has value.

It continues because "people" with ulterior motives pay them to continue. And there is no apparent downside for abject failure. By the time the wings fall off their airplane they'll be lazing on the beach in Fiji.

Jayaraman3AbstractThe carbon budget to limit global warming to 1.5 or 2 deg. C is rapidly shrinking. The assessment of potential mitigation pathways for the future hasthereforebecome important for policymaking. The IPCC’s 6thAssessment Report relies heavily on modelled mitigation pathways to assess policy-relevant outcomes. In this paper, we analyze367 model scenarios, whichare a subset of the scenarios assessed by IPCC’s WG-III for the 6thAssessment Report. We focus our attention on the results for key variables reported by regions across the scenariosfor categories C1, C2, C3, and C4 of the report that correspondto warming levels of 1.5 and 2 deg. C. Our results show that the IPCC AR6 scenarios disregard both the historical responsibility of the global North for carbon emissions as well as the future energy needs of the global South required to meet developmental goals. The burden of climate change mitigation is placed squarely on less developed countries, while developed countries continue to increase their energy consumption unhindered by constraints on the use of fos

La Nina looking weaker today; IOD heading to neutral. It will all be over soon and the media can switch their collective attentions to bushfires, dust storms and drought. PS: I had a native water rat came to live in our pond (converted swimming pool). The tip of his/her/ze's tail looked like it had been dipped in white paint. We had to catch and relocate in order for the goldfish to survive.

Not fully convinced the rains are early so early in QLD they are last seasons late rain. Ratty have you in your time ever seen that much water for such an extended time fall in QLD or even Australia more generally.
If Australia is 4% of the worlds area and 25% of Australia has an extra 100mm of water in the aquifer or surface storage then with the Oceans occupying 70% of the earth, that's 1.5mm sea level reduction.
Sort of hope you are right about SOI IOD. The west of the US is having sufficient snow for a Feb March ski in Idaho. Time to book and wax.
And very sick of the NE winds here in Auckland NZ. Its quite cool for the conditions but with 3 years of predominantly onshore winds the deeper water is warmer than normal quite good for fishing.

I seem to recall that the early to mid 1970s were very similar. I remember a BoM report from that time that said (something like), 'rainfall very much above average for the whole continent'. Record Rainfall & Widespread Flooding
.... but, it's generally the other way

One can only conclude that the Western World has a political and economic death wish.
Bankrupt Western Nations critically short of hydrocarbons are in no position to shell out vast sums of money to "injured" poor countries.
Besides, where is the evidence of [abnormal] climate change damage?
Somehow, I rather doubt that the Asian nations will be contributing. They think the West is mad.
