Long enough that some truckers will quit... and some of them won't come back.
Basically the same as all the other mandates.

Aldi store here was very well stocked today. Prices fairly good (considering) as well. Their truckers seem to be moving along.

I remember being a migrant farm worker back in the 70s when I was in college. Drove a green pea combine for the Green Giant Company out of Dayton Washington. About 9 weeks (June-July) usually 12 hour days 7 days a week. Eating dirt and sun. We were lucky that our on-machine umbrellas worked. A free bunk and locker in a trailer in the labor camp. Good food at the company canteen at subsidised prices. We were young and didn't mind the hours as we were there to make and save money for the next school year.
Next to our camp was the migrant camp for the largely Mexican asparagus cutters. Many would bring the whole family. Don't know how much they made but they came back every year. Sure am glad I didn't have bend over a cutting knife 12 hours a day. I generally sympathize with migrant farm workers. Been there. Done that. But not for my whole life.

It appears we may really be doomed this time.

I am not too worried. For some stupid reason, farmers will plant corn.

I am not too worried. For some stupid reason, farmers will plant corn. How much corn is used in the US for ethanol production? Will we choose to feed autos? Or people? Or can we? Just askin.

Food corn is not the same as industrial corn. Corn flour is made from industrial corn. A can of corn in a store is sweet corn. Most corn is grown for animal feed. Rotation is an issue, for soybeans on soybeans. Also an issue for corn on corn. Today's market is seeking more bean acres. Wheat is generally grown below the cost of production because of Rotation requirements. Corn could become the same thing.

My wife grew up on a dairy farm, her dad grew corn for the herd, but also planted sweet corn for the family. Wife said when the corn was ripe they would have nothing but for dinner. Her mother would bring out a massive platter of corn and only corn for dinner. Fresh corn, homemade butter, and salt if you wanted it.
