I've heard a lot rougher. Sounds like he and the boys (that includes a lot of girls too) know their business. Which puts them light years ahead of many of our central governments. Having worked for a few local, state and federal agencies, I've become convinced that NO government, which is outside of the active reach distance of their constituents, is to be totally trusted. They are mostly less efficient than real working folk, and soon forget who the Boss is supposed to be. They need to be actively thinned and jailed when necessary.

Do you suppose that there is "any" pressure on Tom Vilsack to ensure good ag production numbers until the election is over? Hate to think that the data guys at ag could be coerced ... but then we used to think the same thing about the CDC. That has worked out really well (NOT).

CDC, FBI, FDA... its been a bad few years for losing faith in government agencies. :-(
Used to be I'd at least give agents of any of the above the benefit of the doubt. No group is perfect, especially one that works for the .gov, but I made a presumption that most of the agents were at least trying to do the right thing as they understood it.
No more.

Just got back from Canada and I drove out to the Mosaic K3 potash mine. Work is currently 3350 ft down, but the shaft is 3700 ft deep, and I was told by an engineer the elevator ride down is 10 - 15 minutes www.redaelli.com/projects/mining/mosaic-k3

Drove up to Kirksville in north Missouri today. The corn crop is beginning to be harvested. Hard to tell anything about yields from the highway, but planted area seems smaller, and plant height shorter than in some previous years. A very subjective analysis.

FAO Food Price Index As some of you may know we have a dairy farm in the family but no dairy cows these days just horses, beef cattle, chickens and we grow alfalfa for neighbor herds. I will not say I am not disappointed the price of dairy is going up, and I will say I am disappointed the price of dairy is going up.
