Here we go?
Kansas has enough water, for now, to enhance winter wheat production.
Limiting factor could be cost and availability of N fertilizer.
Spring wheat area is dry. Had snow cover, limited water in snow because most of it fell at -0 temperatures. Should be enough to establish a stand. Problem will be dry late 1/2 of June through harvest.
Corn belt? Looks to be on dry side as well. That pesky solar influence.
Price of fertilizer has gone totally nuts. That will play in harvested bushels.

The fertilizer plant coming online is great.
Fertilizer is a big deal. The US has gas, we should be a world supplier.
Regulations, environmental permits have resulted in an exodus of manufacturing.
At one point, we were.

This could all end so quickly. This administration doesn't want it to end.

Is this partially fluff? Or? My ~800 pounds of dried and frozen food is starting to look a little peaked.

Just about everything from every source is exaggerated to grab attention. Nobody looks unless there’s a sensational theme. The whole world is out over their ski’s 🤓

I think it's real MB except like oil the price will control the outcome.
In NZ the price of petrol has been at $3/L before the outcome is the roads in my town flow better the consumption falls maybe 5 or 10% nobody is dead just a little less consumption.
The article is extreme if fertilizer goes up three fold you don't use zero fertilizer you use half because prices are higher and the input cost rise is matched by a better price for a slightly smaller crop.
Diminishing returns from inputs was an economic concept that applies.
Food waste will decline portion sizes will decline and Type 2 will reduce a little.
yes a silver lining. Grain for fuel maybe a little silly. Also we in NZ have had a long history of declining wealth in the regions as the cities grew faster than the agricultural areas economically, there may be some re balancing coming. also good.

But there are areas that may have a serious problem. Wouldn't want to be an Egyptian right about now ... or any time for that matter.

Even if it is exaggerated, a lot of chickens have come home to roost all at once. The world is in wicked hands we are learning.
