The sun continues to surprise, although once again I'm not convinced that the 'official' SN values are entirely sensible, at least over a few days with what looks like static sunspots where the numbers bounce around by several tens for no obvious reason.
I'd be happy to see more auroras though, and I always enjoy the rough sound of aurora-modulated radio signals even if it does make intelligibility worse.

Saw this in my files and thought it might be useful to re-plot. I suppose I could re=plot with spot counts to current. But I think we can see the trend. Marusak did a good job.

I have not found any references to updates to the AMO series. Don't know when or if it is planned to return. It is such a long series, you would think they would want to maintain it.

Does it contradict the narrative maybe.

Does it contradict the narrative maybe. That's always a thought. But it has long been expected that the positive-flat trend would turn over one of these days. I have not got back to it yet ... but I believe that the CET and coastal stations have historically shown a close fit to the AMO. Updating those, in lieu of the AMO should show if a new trend was breaking out. Flea says it is abnormally cold.

July heading for a -ve anomaly. This year however has had a very many people laughing and deriding on public forums the publishing of figures showing warm anomalies in other months this year. It just hasn't felt "warm".

NOAA state "The AMO is currently not updated due to the source dataset (Kaplan SST) not being updated. We apologize for the inconvenience. NOAA/NCEI has a time-series of the AMO based on the NOAA ERSSTV5." This is the one Missouriboy directed me to. www1.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/cmb/ersst/v5/index/ersst.v5.amo.datDo we know why the NCEI time series has stopped? They use the word "currently" which suggests they may start to update the data, but I agree with nonentropic. It doesn't fit the narrative.

This is how the CET and the AMO look plotted together. Remarkably close but not unexpected relationship. I haven't updated my CET records for a while. What is the CET doing? Is it on vacation too?

CET is tracking along just not really believed by the general population 🤷♂️

CLEAR High Treason to King and Country! We must get REAL temp trends from smaller neighboring coastal places.
