Ireland now stands on the precipice of freedom. The embrace of such laws by the Irish is crushingly ironic. Frank Ryan, who fought against the treaty, spoke for many radicals in declaring “as long as we have fists and boots, there will be no free speech for traitors.” Those anti-Treaty forces rejected the views of free speech that long defined Western nations. Now, Ireland is declaring “no free speech for haters” and assumes the authority to define who are haters and who are not.

Google would be broke if the courts will use an evidenced based evaluation of disinformation.
2% of a tenth of a trillion could make Australia very wealthy.

All science, by definition, is potentially unintentionally false. What once was considered true, is often falsified. So science must stop? If a politically accepted science result is falsified, will the ACMA be fined for allowing the falsified results to be published in the past?

The Misinformation Bill is incredibly dangerous.
It is a wobbly step away from censorship.
Besides, over the last few years viewpoints that various governments considered "disinformation" have proven correct.
Global Warming sceptics might be caught up in this.

Besides, over the last few years viewpoints that various governments considered "disinformation" have proven correct. Global Warming sceptics might be caught up in this. We might be in the top three or four against the wall. After all, we are dangerous. It is very un-American (and stupid) to require conformity to a viewpoint. Harkens back to the McCarthy era ,,, even though his warnings of Communists in the government was at least partially true. Total truth in science rarely exists for long. Those screaming the loudest are usually charlatans and demigogues, Exactly the people that should not be put in charge of policy.

It isn't a wobbly step away from censorship. It IS censorship.
