OK, I started buying some stocks for my self today. I know the trend is probably still down, but I'd rather have stock than monopoly money.

OK, I started buying some stocks for my self today. I know the trend is probably still down, but I'd rather have stock than monopoly money. If it's part of the right stock. To me that is a select set of reasonably priced, efficient companies selling "things" that people will still need even if everything goes to Hell.
The White House seems to be modeling for the Hell scenario. As well they should. I think Blu posted the chart from this earlier. I've got food for 1+ years. Hope the heat and electric stay on.

Th deep state is about making money. Stocks have a way of always being alright. Until the day the sky actually does fall.
Besides, long term, can stocks really be any worse than Biden dollars? Companies raise their selling prices and share dividends as inflation erodes the dollar.

Yes. But household income is NOT keeping up. A lot of purchases may exit through the cracks. Credit cards are only good for so long. Karen may have to downgrade her cosmetic brands. She'll be grumpy.

the US produces the same quantity of oil etc as it uses so the country will have different pockets being filled that is not everywhere in the world.
$200/bbl oil is about the 1979 adjusted number we still moved about in planes, trains and cars.
Cars from 1980 would be doing 120mpg if the technologies we now have were included in them. However our cars are now twice the size, safety etc. and astonishingly fast in comparison.
at $200/bbl there is a lot of oil in the world.

The moralists want it to be expensive. But they don't want the consequences (for them). So they are caught in a trap of their own making.

FB and some of the other SM sites have received massive financial and general support from the Corp left and also the TDS. Clearly Trump will not need to return as the left in the US has somewhat declined.
From what we can understand about Twitter little about the company involved commercial trade I would suggest this sector "Tech" will experience their own little private depression. That is if the world is rational.

May you live in interesting times
"May you live in interesting times" is an English expression that is claimed to be a translation of a traditional Chinese curse. While seemingly a blessing, the expression is normally used ironically; life is better in "uninteresting times" of peace and tranquility than in "interesting" ones, which are usually times of trouble.Wikipedia
