If there is a gas crisis in the EU they the EU will bargain away a good deal for Putin to stay warm and in power. Further Russia has a reputation for patience in the past, and I would suggest that a strategic $200m to the appropriate green players in the EU and the knowledge that the NAO is rolling over plus not being a religious zealots of the CAGW persuasion and we will see "slowly slowly catchy monkey" in play, just saying. Had a great idea that could resolve the entire issue, they want the EU to stop growing NATO, why not invite Russia to join NATO. Whats not to like! Interesting idea. I think I just heard about 150 million citizens of the Eastern EU plus the Baltic and Balkan States drop dead of shock. But hay! They'd get over it.

my energy company sent me an email today saying there going to raise my direct debit to £165 from £108 ... so i reminded them we have a contract where as i have to pay £108 per month and if my total for the yr go's above this i will pay a single payment to the amount .. as in the summer months i don't use gas i bbq nearly every day and the heating is off ... just waiting to here back from them .. ? I'm not bragging, but my December gas bill was US$50. My electricity and gas combined was US$150. Y'all need to "lean" really hard on a few politicians.

I have nothing particularly against Russia, if they would just point their missiles somewhere else. We were programmed to hate and fear Russia as children in the early 70's.

In the early 60s thay made us assume our practiced positions under our desks while Comrade Greta led us in rousing martial music. We weren't sure which was scarier ... the Russians ... or Comrade Greta.

By the early 80's the paranoia had reached a fever pitch.

The "greener" Europe becomes the more addicted to Putin's gas they get. It seems that Europe needs to work on diversity of energy supply. A near monopoly of Russian supply seems like a recipe for serfdom. A fleet of trans-Atlantic LNG carriers is not a solution. North Africa has huge oil and gas reserves with existing pipeline connections across the Med. Time to expand them? They can choose to be Green and Cold, or semi-green and warm. Expand the southern connections and let the two source areas compete for business. Surely this is not lost on business-minded Europeans.

Does that imply a lien on each and every one of our properties? .... and your first born. Exactly, I was thinking a little closer, and lower, somewhere between our legs.
