Let The Wild Rumpus Begin* (Approaching the End of) The First U.S. Bubble Extravaganza: Housing, Equities, Bonds, and Commodities By Jeremy Grantham Sooner or later he's bound to be right ... but timing is everything. I'd pass on the Seattle Highway Trailer Trash (posted above). Around here, half a million would still buy you a "small" Kingdom. And you wouldn't have to put up with the unrestrained roving bands of barbarians. When Seattle and Portland have been burnt to the ground, sensible settlers will rebuild and debate what went wrong. Ditto for the great urban desolations of the Northeast, Upper Midwest and West Coast.
Put this up with the great quotes of history ... We humans do crazy very well indeed!
On the bright side ... if there is one ... Florida properties will be purchasable for pennies on the dollar, for anyone that still has money or credit.

"Handyman special" or "Needs a little TLC" or "Investment opportunity" would feature in the ads over here.

We try to take advantage of the VIX futures curve contango, which is the normal term structure for most futures contracts over time but especially for VIX, as time increases expected variance has to balloon. So you can short forward month contracts and make money as the contract time values decay. Right now, with a pullback possibly looming, the contango curve is in backwardation, wich signals danger for short selling VIX. So now the strategy is to sell the spikes and take profits quickly. VXX returns are not normally distributed, so the strategy has the risk of being caught in the "fat tail" at the right of the distribution during a short. vixcentral.com/

My partner is a trader named Rob DeAveiro who is genuinely very skilled. I was a broker for several years myself and actually never knew a more successful day trader over the long term. Rob and I developed our system for volatility trading over several years.
Rob sometimes posts on an active daytraders website fazination.proboards.com under the username TheMist. He often posts charts and daily calls which have been helpful for those traders over the years. Several of those members are investors in the fund. There are a few talented and knowledgable traders who post on that website. I go by walnut there same as here. I seldom post though.
