I think I missed the part where each scientist-bureaucrat or wannabe legally pledged their life and their extended family estate down to the 10th generation as collateral for the truth of and successful completion of this great endeavor.

The 13th large atmospheric river (AR13) of winter 2022-23 is forecast to hit California. Scripps Institution of Oceanography tallies 29 of all sizes.
Found an article reference (then lost it) on a study that extended the concept of atmospheric rivers to Western Europe with 13 of 14 storms (year?) being classified as ARs using similar criteria. Also found a reference to a large AR season in the pre-cycle 24 La Nina period.

Our findings suggest that these exceptional temperatures arise from the superposition of natural variability with a long-term warming trend, apparent since ad 1800. The disproportionate warming is accompanied by enhanced Greenland meltwater run-off, implying that anthropogenic influence has also arrived in central and north Greenland, which might further accelerate the overall Greenland mass loss.
Or does it merely imply that the Grand Solar Maximum of the 20th Century was in fact "Grand". Love it how anthropogenic MUST be the only answer.

Equity and efficiency are two important factors guiding the mitigation of anthropogenic emissions to achieve the Paris climate goals. Previous studies have proposed a range of allocations of global carbon budgets, but few have quantified the equity–efficiency interaction.
