In Saudi it was said, that by law, construction workers (mostly 3rd World laborers) were to be allow to stop work when temperatures reached 45C.

Without rigorous evidence, I assert that we in Vancouver BC have had a relatively cool year overall (currently 22C at our house away from the water), and that the 'brutal' temperatures lasted less than a week. Lytton and Osoyoos BC flirt with 40C every summer, and are the closest to 'desert' that we have in Canada I think. |
