International crowd but I thought I would like to create a poll. Looks like Trump vs DeSantis in the primary. Discuss...

I don't know yet myself, much was wrong with Trump but the economy and the stock market did well.

If we want our Republic to survive, we absolutely need to beat the insane, corrupt Demo-Commies and their deep state conductors. Trump has more baggage than a lop-sided one-wheeled ox cart. Yes, I still believe (statistically) that 2020 was very likely stolen. The fact that it was close, just makes my point. If De Santis is reasonably honest, believes to the depths of his guts in the Republic, carries multiple pairs of iron underwear, and can instill the wraith of God in the true-hearted defenders of the Republic and the wanna-bees, then bring him on. This gentlemen, is WAR.

Trump pushed the "vaccines", face masks, and lockdowns. DeSantis was one of the top two or three governors in upholding the actual law. No contest.

Trump pushed the "vaccines", face masks, and lockdowns. DeSantis was one of the top two or three governors in upholding the actual law. No contest. This is a big problem for me. I also am still confused about him seemingly filling every position with deep state people. Just the opposite of what he campaigned on. I think that Trump was a fairly well connected deep state kind of a yankee. He gradually found some political luck with populist talk of exposing the deep state. Well, of course they didn't like that betrayal. Trump assumed that they would let him back in eventually. He tried to curry favor with appointments and policies. Didn't work. They hate him.

I'm intrigued by Tim Scott. If he had executive experience he would certainly be my guy.

A scenario that needs to be considered. If Trump were to lose to DeSantis in the primary I have no doubt that he would run as an Independent essentially splitting the Republican vote and insuring Biden a second term. I am not a Trump fan but I would prefer him to 8 more years with Mr. Biden.

Trump is gong to be indicted in the Mar a Lago document fiasco very soon, and he faces a trial in March 2024 in the bogus Bragg persecution. And, the Georgia cases are still percolating. At some point won't the weight of all those legal issues, valid or not, coupled with all of Trump's personality baggage and assorted other dirty linen, cause his funds to dry up, and his campaign to crash? One can only hope.

Question from an interested observer: Assuming Trump does not / can not run (in any capacity), could DeSantis win enough Electoral College votes?

I have no confidence the election will be anything close to honest.

The fact that the attacks on DeSantis from the left are coming so hard so soon makes me think he is feared by the left. they are doing everything they can, including lying about his record as governor of Florida, to kill his campaign whilst it is still in the cradle.
