Farming does need to stop.
When it does, all dynamics will change. Empty grocery shelves would bring out the best in folks, right?

Farming does need to stop. When it does, all dynamics will change. Empty grocery shelves would bring out the best in folks, right? Right! Until they get hungry, and the the food kitchens are empty, and the local police are not enough, and they (the usual thugs, thieves and desperados) show up at your door to "take your shit". Just like the old days when locals grouped up, tracked them down and hung them from trees. Civilization is very fragile when "Mongols" come to visit. In "New Speak" Mongols are just poor misunderstood boys who are really good at heart. Right!

To be fair the price of commodities has risen quite a bit. In NZ the sector is in a sensation state other than having a Govt. that loathes them in my view because they are the shining beacon of capitalism.
Remember the lessons from the Ukraine are not this current war but what a Socialist movement can do to farming with "collectism" a 100 years ago.

And I guess that the NZ Collectivists just don't have "the stuff" of a Joe Stalin. Second rate I'd say. They'll devise legislation and fund departments and all. But Uncle Joe would just come down and kill yo ass. If this were Oklahoma and those newbees were transplanted New England Yankees, what would we say or do? Would some of "the boys" strap on a crooked cross and go visiting a hundred years later? It must be resisted. But one knows from whence it came.

First indication of a bad Argentine harvest and maybe other southern hemisphere. Keep your stocks up just in case.

March in Middle Earth is looking very similar to the same point of solar cycle 24. Since both started in December, their progression is seasonally comparable. The monsoon is developing, with rain as far as the 10-day forecasts can see. The map shows the distribution east and west of the 100th meridian. Hoping that 2012 midwest high pressure heat dome does not reappear in July 2023. Took a hurricane to loose its hold in 2012. Our soil moisture seems to be pretty good.

Argentina problems have been widely known for months now. The growth is well beyond repair this growing season there.
