So what's with the Gates.

He wants to spray calcium carbonate into the atmosphere to dim the effects of the sun.

a few issues .

Sort of kills off solar power generation, only left with bird killing, Infrasound generating, and wind flow stopping things that, they seem hell bent on destroying rain forest and bush land to install ( to save the environment apparently)

who knows what damage it will do. not sure of the effects on SO2 and NO2 in the atmosphere, will it turn into calcium hydroxide.

Kills astronomy, I guess it will stop mass hysteria until the asteroids or comets come streaming through the sky.

Or does gates know we are heading into a cooling period and by doing this he can say he cooled the planet and stopped global warming

while i am at it, I think CO2 should get a better manager, the current manager is doing a dismal job, maybe a few movies, the odd tv show, might help improve the ratings, although due the  abuse and vilification of CO2 by Governments and the media and corrupt organizations, Those anti CO2's, with a bias against CO2 should be taken to court for hate crimes.

With coronavirus, apparently the infective agent of [from memory] SARS was spliced onto a bat virus, to see if it would improve infectivity.

The experiment was successfull.

Gates' idea might also work, with interesting results.

From a northern perspective, why would anyone want to cool the earth?

Even from a Mid-Western perspective!  I am sure that we can trust the same people that cannot get 20+ climate models to match reality, to successfully model (engineer) and fine tune a "dimming" recipe that works as advertized.  PT Barnum is still correct.  Morbid humor would show a world that was already cooling (but not admitted) being "dimmed" by the dimmest of the Dim.  Follow the money.

Sorry no links, I have seen it come up on a lot of different sites, in the last few days. judging by the way everything else is happening, then history shows, if they appear to ponder, it seem it is already in the process

I'd vote for the need to see a link. Unfortunately, what my experience is is that the gossip game gets played and straw men built until what a person is accused of doesn't really even resemble what was really said. I'd be interested to know what the discussion really was, though.

Good point.  I doubt the optimum temperature for the earth overall is lower than the current temperaure.  But if aerosols can be shown to be effective at a relatively low cost we maybe could force a debate on using aerosols versus eliminating fossils fuels if cooling or elimination of further warming is desired.

Aerosols have a significant advantage over fossil fuel reduction.  They leave the CO2 in the atmosphere which greatly improves crop production.
