Proponents of so-called solar geoengineering, such as tech billionaire Bill Gates, say techniques intended to block a portion of the solar radiation reaching the planet ought to be considered. Gates himself has put his money where his mouth is, backing a Harvard University experiment to look at the effect of spraying particles into the stratosphere to, in theory, create a global cooling effect.
I believe if the experiment goes wrong, Mr. Gates will reverse course.
In the Science Fiction book "The Ministry for the Future" by Kim Stanley Robinson. India does this after a heat wave kills millions in their country.
Two recent articles about the idea:

Let me make my position on aerosols a little clearer.
I see aerosols as a possible antidote for potential dangers of excessive global warming that many of those in power perceive as possible.
It’s like snake venom. You don’t use it if you don’t need it. But with snake venom available you can take chances in the Arizona environment like going outdoors (rattlesnakes are everywhere) because you have a way of surviving an otherwise deadly event.
Let’s keep using fossil fuels. If something catastrophic (unexpected to most of us here including me) occurs, let’s have an antidote ready.
If you are not sure whether the antidote works, let’s test it (for free with Bill Gates’ money).
Don’t take the antidote if there is no problem. Under today's situation, let's not dim the sun except for minimal tests.
At the same time we could be adding nuclear power, not eliminating it.

Since human caused “warming/climate change”is still only a theory in view of the data being within the range of normal variation, I think this is borderline insanity. That said, if money is being thrown around, folks are going to pick it up.

That said, if money is being thrown around, folks are going to pick it up. Of course though, their data has been manipulated to show that the climate has not stayed within normal variation. If we claim that the data is fake, we sound like conspiracy theorists. I think that is where we lose traction in the political debate. As we have seen at other times, if the lie is bold enough, the public tends to believe it.

Since much is riding on their prognostications, the prognosticators should be required to warranty (insure) their prognostications and post a bond. Governments should not be allowed to do this. Forecasts might become more reasonable rather quickly.

Prescient social critic Christopher Lasch's 1996 book, The Revolt of the Elites and the Betrayal of Democracy, laid out a blueprint of social decay that continues to inform our descent into social disorder. Lasch excoriated our revolting elites for abandoning the foundations of social stability, upward mobility, the middle class and democracy in their race to enrich and insulate themselves in protected enclaves--neighborhoods, corporate suites, foundations and institutions--of fellow elites.
This has been addressed before ...
Matthew 19:16-30 (King James Version)
16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

No one creeps me out like Bill Gates. The world would be fine if he stepped in front of a bus one day. That said I day traded Microsoft this morning for a little gain.

The idea that the CO2 is already considered the cause of the modest warming is the big issue here. We can conclude that the rise in CO2 in the atmosphere is us, some don't but the bulk is, so the only appropriate action if there were to be one would focus on the CO2.
The only one that would work is Fe fertilization of the oceans just the south pacific could reduce the CO2 levels 40ppm and lots more fish.
