ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council Of Texas) paid bitcoin miner Riot 31 million dollars to shut down in August to avoid rolling blackouts during our record heat wave. So to sum up: Texas pays a company 31 million dollars to keep them from "mining" an imaginary currency that is used by drug dealers, criminals and tax evaders so hard working Texans could keep the power on...
