Ukraine had the largest army in Europe in 2022. Russia has deliberately kept the line in the east. There is a significant strategic advantage of forcing the other side to traverse across the country and meet you along a line of contact. This is the were the word attrition comes into play. Additionally, the further west to go, the more hostile the native population is. Russia produces more tanks in 1 months, then the entire west does in 1 year. They have continued to build a massive force to prepare for a direct military confrontation with the west. American generals admit the Russian military is now significantly larger and more capable than February 2022. The reality is, there is nothing the west can do. I agree there will be no WWIII. Just lots of complaining and whining as Ukraine falls. Your logic and thoughts process is what got us into this mess. You have been indoctrinated by propaganda. Reality is vastly different than you were taught to believe. Russia is ready for WWIII. The west is not.

Ukraines drones are wreaking havoc on Russian oil refineries. Putin fired his right hand man. I don't think the war is going as good as Justme would have you believe...

Russia is not producing new tanks, its re-activating older and older tanks.
Same with arty.
All its best forces from pre 22 are gone.
The west has demonstrated in the past what happens when combined arms, decent logistics and modern armour does against T-60 T-72 to the tune of 3000-0.
That figure is no joke, the west has what it needs. Russia has spent its best and is patching its forces with old junk.

History really does repeat itself. Putin sacking Shoigu and replacing him with an economist is eerily similar to another evil dictator sacking his Minister of Armaments And War Production and replacing him with a young architect named Albert Speer in 1942. I guess great minds think alike, let's hope it works out about as well as the last time this was tried. Hell they even look the same...

It didn't manufacture that many tanks at all.
The more modern T-80/90 tanks are becoming rarer on the battlefield, older tanks more common.

Is this the number of tanks that Russia now has in their inventory or the number they manufactured in 2023? There's quite a difference, you know.

www.rusi.org/explore-our-research/publications/commentary/russian-military-objectives-and-capacity-ukraine-through-2024Of the tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, for example, approximately 80% are not new production but are instead refurbished and modernised from Russian war stocks. The number of systems held in storage means that while Russia can maintain a consistent output through 2024, it will begin to find that vehicles require deeper refurbishment through 2025, and by 2026 it will have exhausted most of the available stocks In terms of combat equipment, the Russian Group of Forces holds approximately 4,780 barrel artillery pieces, of which 20% are self-propelled; 1,130 MLRS; 2,060 tanks; and 7,080 other armoured fighting vehicles, primarily consisting of MT-LBs, BMPs and BTRs In terms of Russian industry's capacity to support ongoing operations, Russia has significantly mobilised its defence industry, increasing shifts and expanding production lines at existing facilities as well as bringing previously mothballed plants back online. This has led to significant increases in production output. For example, Russia is delivering approximately 1,500 tanks to its forces per year along with approximately 3,000 armoured fighting vehicles of various types. --note, while Russia has many artilliary pieces, it relies on them and they're well used. Satellite imagery shows depots emptying as barrel wear requires replacement. Not discussed in this article are timescales on usable barrels, but its at least along timescales for tanks. Osint characters have identified 3000 Russian tanks lost, either destroyed, captured or Abandoned since war commenced.
