When I was in college, I knew (not in the Biblical sense) members of a group of local "gays". They called themselves Queers and Fagots ... and could be guaranteed to liven up a party with their transvestite dress. They seemed to be decent enough people who lived mostly sad lives (my observations). Many of them died young. I use the term them because I could not identify with or support their lifestyle, but I was happy enough to treat them as human beings on a one-to-one basis. Certain other "red-neck" graduates of Hickman High School in Columbia, MO would get drunk on weekends an hunt them down for a fight.
