I hope you guys are right. How long before a trend is evident? Somewhere right after the Valkyries begin their run.

www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/editorials/california-non-election-day"Tomorrow, Californians will vote in a gubernatorial election, but judging by television ads and lawn signs, you’d never know it. Incumbent Gov. Gavin Newsom is up by more than 20 points on his Republican challenger, who has raised a paltry $400,000 for the entire race. Newsom isn’t running any television ads, and his campaign website doesn’t include a platform. "With the Democratic governor cruising to such an easy victory tomorrow, one might expect Californians to be extremely happy with the direction in which their state is going. But the opposite is true. The most recent poll from the Public Policy Institute of California shows 54% of likely voters believe their state is headed in the wrong direction. Compare that to say, Florida, where the flip side is true: 57% of Florida voters say their state is on the right track." The article goes on about some of CA's problems. It finishes with: "Lucky for them, Californians still live in the United States and are therefore allowed to escape to better-governed Republican states such as Arizona, Florida, Idaho, and Texas, which they have been doing in droves. But what if Democrats get their way and make the rest of the country a one-party state like California? "Where will middle-class families flee to then?" As someone who, after years of trying, gave up on WA and fled to TX (I wasn't crazy enough even a decade ago to live in CA), I have wondered about that a lot.

With all that is going on the world. Energy crisis in Europe and a wordwide fertilizer shortage to say no more drilling is ludicrous.

As someone who, after years of trying, gave up on WA and fled to TX (I wasn't crazy enough even a decade ago to live in CA), I have wondered about that a lot. That "flee" part is a major part of the problem. Our Constitution is based on an enumerated set of individual rights and government controls. Implied, but not specifically enumerated, are the reciprocal 'responsibilities" that come with every right. The Wild West ended when that periods' middle class families banded together and exterminated the individual and collective predators. Wild Cities periods have previously ended when similar arrangements were imposed in their precincts. Choose a kinder and gentler term if you wish, but the individual and collective nature of predators has probably not changed in 10,000 years (or choose any old number). Birds of a feather flock together to impose their greed and authoritarian nature on the meek. Pick a favorite cause and unacceptable profit path. When collective dens of thieves and rascals take over areas, governments "of the people" step in with stepped up open season and "bag" limits. When such dens take over government, elections are the "prescribed" method of predator control. When institutional methods fail, you are left with Non's Thesis. You vote them in, but may have to shoot them out. George III and Al Capone would be familiar with the later method. ALL institutions WILL become corrupted over time. It is the nature of the beast(s) that nestle into the feeding trough. The trash must periodically be shoveled out or the nest will become immune to anything short of burning. Fleeing is not the ultimate solution, as sooner or later, you will run out of places to flee. Ask any native American. This guy probably didn't own any British East India Company stock.

Actually, I admire their consistency - if dead people can vote, surely it is only fair that they can be elected too?
