Crikey Walnut! I find that assessment a little disconcerting, even scary, and I can't explain why. Ratty, I think it's because of this- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valleyThings that are "almost human" are off-putting and disturbing to us.

I hope that Cindy is friendlier than Hal. They are smart enough to fool us, so never let your guard down.

Stanley could out-act Cindy. And he has the human animal killer instinct.

McDonald's is fast food. It is also prime real estate.
Profit margin is pretty good. Recession proof a bit.
At current price, long term investment opportunity?

Historically, the major market drops have been due to an "event" which is clearly definable. Examples are the Arab oil embargo, thedot.com bubble, the subprime loan housing bubble and COVID. Is there any clearly definable event on the radar which you believe will cause a major market drop in the near future?

War in Middle East / Closure of Red Sea and Strait of Hormuz might be possibilities.

Is there any clearly definable event on the radar which you believe will cause a major market drop in the near future? I think China invading Taiwan would be a clearly definable event. Probably unlikely in the short term but much more likely in the 2025-2027 time span. Especially since Xi Ping Pong has said told President Biden that it will happen. He just did not give a timeline but sources say he has instructed his military to complete plans by 2027. While I don't think we would get into a full scale conflict with China over Taiwan our most likely response would be stiff economic sanctions. Sanctions that would likely strain supply chains worldwide...
