If the internet goes down for 24 hrs in the US you will not want to be in an urban center. During the freeze last year here in Texas we went without power, water and the internet for four days without too much disruption. (Cell phones did not work either). I learned a lot. But I do know that we do have more than four days before it really hits the fan. My guess would be a week to ten days. With that being said we all kept thinking the power was going to come back on any minute. Should that hope not be there it would probably get worse quicker. |

But I do know that we do have more than four days before it really hits the fan. My guess would be a week to ten days. Here in COMO we are only 130,000, of which ~20,000 are students. The county areas add another 50K ... but the further out you go, the more conservative it gets. With 24+ hours without internet? With ditto power and water, it could get interesting. But we generally don't loot on average. Yes, a good social test. |
