And the reason given is "greenhouse gas impacts" of all things.
"It's very important that we assess how these wells would affect the global climate".
At least the minerals remain in the ground. A future, less stupid (or more desperate) generation will mine it.

That ruling will have to be appealed.

Following walnut's comment on "greenhouse gas impacts", how anomalously cold does our planet have to be before there is a general recognition that a catastrophic mistake has been made?
It is difficult to be optimistic about this: left wing movements are notoriously averse to admitting they were wrong.

It is difficult to be optimistic about this: left wing movements are notoriously averse to admitting they were wrong. And they've done a good job of training the sheep to believe what they're told over their own memories. How many times have the goal posts been moved during the panicdemic? Now imagine each of those a full year apart instead of a month or three. That would be the equivalent of a decade or so already... and the bulk of the population STILL hasn't caught on about mask mandates, "vaccines", etc.

Not sure how many here watch BNN but Charlie Riedl was just on about how difficult it will be to supply enough LNG to Europe if Russia turns off the taps. Currently there are around 50 LNG ships that are in transit or close to Europe but that would only be about 1% of what’s required. Plus there would be infrastructure issues just offloading and getting the product to where it’s needed.

It may be a bit early yet to see it reflected in the UAH data. True believers will believe what they are told.

When I worked in Alaska in the 1980s, there was a popular bumper sticker (aimed at lower48ers that opposed Alaska drilling) attached to many cars. It read, "Let the Bastards Freeze in the Dark".
