And, in 2022 it was really hot for a day and nothing happened!!!
(I worked indoors in a max temp of 38°c with a wet towel on my head....achieved a good day's work)
Guy on a beach in Cornwall was bleating on, rather loudly, how sea was warm enough to swim with no wetsuit and bluefin tuna can now be caught off the coast which just "isn't right".
My fingers lost circulation after being in the sea for 30 mins with a wetsuit on.
Didn't know about the tuna thing...googled it. Tuna disappeared 50 years ago due to over-fishing...that they're back is a good sign for the environment.
Wish I'd known that, I would have equally loadly publicly debunked him right there on the beach.
These people are brainwashed and proclaim loudly and sincerely what they 'feel' to be true because MSN pumps the narrative.
Of course truth has FA to do with feelings, but organisations like BBC persist with inflating examples of events which make people feel insecure and on edge.
If, say, there was a meteorite heading to earth in 5 years, the government knew and to make the population feel good in the last years pumped MSM with feel good stories...you can imagine how different peoples perspectives would be.
Guys on beaches would maybe be proclaiming how wonderful it is to have bluefin tuna back in these shores again, nature is thriving.
Very sure tho, most people, even intelligent people, don't cross reference "facts" but just blurt out facts that are in line with how they feel.

[ Snip ] Wish I'd known that, I would have equally loudly publicly debunked him right there on the beach. [ Snip ] Acid, that's the story of my life. Wish I had a quid for every time I've said or thought that, especially the very first time I was embarrassed in a group about my thoughts on global warming.

From the National Weather Service today in Seattle. forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=47.60357000000005&lon=-122.32944999999995"Excessive Heat Watch in effect from August 14, 11:00 AM PDT until August 17, 10:00 PM PDT" and this * WHAT...A multi-day stretch of dangerously hot conditions with daytime temperatures in the 80s and 90's. Why? It seems disingenous to me that the federal government is warning about temps in the 80's...

I mentioned that Arizona, my winter home, had a super hot July. Meanwhile back in Ohio, so far this year we've only had 1 day where temperatures reached 90 degrees. It's been over 20 years since we had only 1 day over 90 this late in the year.
