If they're not totally stupid (economically) I would give that a pass if I was them. How long till the little women get a little t'ed off by empty stores. Is pride worth the price?

They the Chinese stepped back from elimination of C19 which was a surprise to me.
Ultimately nobody wants to be shot and that is what focus's Ji and Putin, makes me optimistic they both know that without total success they die. Putin is fighting day by day for his life literally.

This pretty much sums up what I think. Ah, the old "countries that are major trading partners with each other won't go to war" theory. Stalin thought so too. Nearly cost him his country.

Does this affect anything?

If the US went to war with China, we would be screwed.

If the US went to war with China, we would be screwed. I don't share your skepticism. It would take an all out mobilization and effort not seen from us since WWII but I would not sell us short. We would be screwed if those in Washington think we could fight a "limited war" like every other police action we have been in since WWII. We have not been in a real war since 1945, everything since has been a gift to the military industrial complex from indebted politicians. Ukraine is no exception.
