I don't always agree with Mr. Zeihan but a few things are undeniable. He knows Geopolitics, history and demographics and always gives the viewer something to think about. The current situation is this. Russia is massing and preparing for a big spring offensive as soon as the mud dries. Nato is training 60,000 troops with the latest and greatest military technology the West can offer. The Spring offensive will likely decide this war.
Worldwide food, fuel, fertilizer and other shortages will start to effect more and more people. The poorest nations first.
This video is well worth the 10 minutes or so. For example the Crimean Canal is once again controlled by Ukraine and I don't think they are going to let water for irrigation through it.

Why would anybody come on here to brag about Ukrainian losses? Mostly what that does is remind us of the murderous leader in Russia, and cute words aren't going to change our perception of that. Sorry, but Russia is an aggressor nation, a pariah, and deservedly an outcast from most of the civilized world. So why do you go on about it like it's something to brag about? I have been pointing out the level of indoctrination in this forum, as well as the effectiveness of western disinformation. Perhaps work on your subjective perceptions? Many experts in the west view the USA as the cause of this conflict. Here is John Mearsheimer in 2015: Many Russia experts living in the USA have the same view, as do countries outside the west. Incidentally, the majority of the world's population lives outside the west. These are the countries that sanctioned Russia. A far cry from being a pariah. Incidentally, some members of the EU Parliament are already talking about dropping sanctions against Russia when this conflict ends. Why not mention all the people killed in The Donbas since 2014? Why not learn to critically think, and avoid being a mindless sheep? If Ukraine was encouraged to be a neutral country, and not an aggressive anti-Russia satellite state of the west, this conflict would of never happened. Experts in the USA, Russia, West, and East have been warning about this for over a decade. Hundreds of thousands of lives in Ukraine should of been saved. The global economy would be running better than ever.

Ukraine was a US deep state biolab puppet regime. I feel bad for the citizens of Ukraine who had nothing to do with it. Seems like we poked the bear until it finally came out of the cave. How long would the US tolerate a similar situation with Mexico and Russia?

The global economy would be running better than ever. When you come in here talking about other people being "indoctrinated," we look at you as the pot calling the kettle black. As an example, I read several news sources including Korean and some of the English language news from China. I even read Al Jazeera. There is only one news source that gives the kinds of stories you're trying to get us to believe, and those really are located in Russia. So sorry, but no, that's not what you're trying to do. What you're actually trying to do is "indoctinate" us with the propaganda that you want to believe. Nothing more, and nothing less. We really are thinking individuals as is evidenced by the disagreement and discussion on other topics. You know, if we were "mindless sheep" like you allege, it would seem you would have no problem getting us to follow you mindlessly. Why do you think we're not following you? I can tell you it is specifically because we ARE thinking, and have evaluated what you are saying to be nothing more than BS. There is nothing to follow in what you are saying. You have not been accurate in your predictions, and there is no reason for us to believe you will be more accurate going foward. The whole "anti-Russia satellite of the west" is just more Russina BS. It's the kind of thing put out by Vlad the vermin and you swallowed it. You are the one indoctrinated. The only thing we need to see is that the battle lines are in Ukraine, just as battle lines in other Russian conflicts have been in other countries. Period. End of story. Russia is the aggressor. Vlad the vermin is the imperialist expansionist. Ukrainian women have been raped, and children carried off into Russia by the invading hordes. We have seen the executions by sledge hammers, and other barbaric acts from the Russian military. There is no other "western indoctrination" across rival countries that is "so effective against us." It is you living in your little bubble and trying to get us to live there with you. We won't. Sorry. The blame for all of this is on Vlad the vermin, Prigozhin, Kadyrov, et. al. We have exactly NO respect for any of them, and no respect is due them. If you want to follow that murdering horde, then yes, we will categorize you likewise. That's reality

I cannot choose sides. I wish that Russia had not invaded, but I think that the US did partially provoke it. The US governments hands are embarrassingly bloody.

They also encouraged or directly participated in regime change at the start of 2014. The Mexican government has taken an anti-USA stance. Many people are being killed in northern Mexico / Texas border with Russian weapons. Russian politicians are meeting with Mexican leaders on national TV holding hands while encouraging the Mexican government. Would the USA accept this? The Monroe doctrine: www.thoughtco.com/monroe-doctrine-1773384Why all the fuss about the Cuban missile crisis? According to you, the USA should of been okay with Russia installing missiles in Cuba? Right? Cuba is a sovereign state. Does this mean the USA was the aggressor in the Cuban missile crisis? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_Missile_Crisis

The U.S. hands are not clean when it comes to Ukraine. There is plenty of blame to go around and I wish the U.S. would have a less arrogant and more responsible foreign policy.
With that being said was Ukraine a direct threat to the sovereignty of Russia? Even if NATO excepted Ukraine would they be a threat to Russia? The answer is no and no.
Putin viewed Ukraine as a target of opportunity in a twisted last ditch effort to get back some of the USSR's former glory. And If Nato and the West would have simply let Putin take Ukraine would he stop there?
The bottom line is this do you trust Putin to stop with Ukraine? If the answer is no you better stand up to him in Ukraine. Because history has taught us that power hungry dictators are not to be trusted when it comes to making promises to stop taking land once they have started.

But I don't think that the untrained soldiers that he yanked out of Russian neighborhoods and into the Ukrainian hellscape are on board with this glorious vision. This proxy war has been a deep state wet dream. The old strawman is back, business will be good.

Right? Cuba is a sovereign state. Does this mean the USA was the aggressor in the Cuban missile crisis? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_Missile_CrisisCute word games, but this isn't a parallel universe, and deflections to a parallel universe are not going to change the fact that Russia invaded a neighbor in 2014, and escalated it about a year ago. It's a common pattern with Russia. Vlad the vermin just saw what he thought was an easy target for expansion, and all this talk about being threatened is just attempting to justify the unjustifiable. The battle lines are in Ukraine, and that is because Russia invaded. That's the whole of this situation. Nothing you are saying justifies Russia's invasion of Ukraine. You're trying to play the same game that our kids all tried to play with us that "But Johnny did <insert some version of Johnny here>?" But maybe you can tell me where the battle lines in the Cuban missile crisis were. I can certainly draw out for you where the battle lines in the Ukraine war are. (Hint: there were no battle lines in Cuba, but there are battle lines in Ukraine) You can also see that the USSR was actually putting nuclear missiles into Cuba and the negotiated end on November 20th, 1962 saw the USSR remove their bombers and nuclear missiles from Cuba. This is just a word game you're playing since there is not really any parallel here. There is no defense for the actions of Vlad the vermin, nor the dispicable actions of the invading hordes. Why would you even try?
