Somewhere Pavarotti is rejoicing. ... and Gigli.

I just noticed this, Mr. Sig. I still have my component stereo from college (early 1970s) A Pioneer 626 receiver, 2 Acoustic Research table top loudspeakers, and a manual Dual turntable. You may say "Boomer please!" but when I spin my vinyl collection on that setup I swear I get a better, richer, sound than on any of my digital systems. And I can sit back while listening to Surrealistic Pillow and still see Cynthia Brandt smoking a joint in the chair opposite me whilst I smile because I know the night will end well since my roommate went home to see his parents that weekend. Definitely better, isn't it? much better. We lived in the better years in many ways.... If you discount Disco. I thought that genre would never end.

Yes. It amazes how often some of the best musicians drift in and out of dark themes. Quite common in American folk and country. Lost the car - lost the dog - lost the wife. Or the Celtic ballads of the old country and transplanted to the Appalachians. Dark themes of battles lost and clansmen slaughtered. Classical too ... channel Mozart's supposed last work ... Requiem Mass for the Dead. Some get stuck in the dark. Others approach it at different points in their lives. Others bridge the light to dark spectrum ... like peter, Paul and Mary. Radiohead has some amazing vocal - instrumental mixtures. But many are quite dark.
Another form of dark ... Still Irish dark. But maybe better without the creepy images.

Something expressive and calming in a continuous loop.

Something expressive and calming in a continuous loop. I was scared to play it...you know shark attack, or spear fisher kills the turtle.

I like all kinds of music from old school big band music from the 1940's, to Sinatra, to classic rock. Coming from Texas I can't leave out Country. Not the crap they sell in Nashville nowadays but what we call Texas Country.
