I’m extremely skeptical about the motivations of every human involved in this “article”. None of them have objectively driven motivations. CBS least of all. Lots of reasons for numbers to decline in an area. Animals move with food sources. Males move to find their own area. The article’s only statistic’s are changes in survey estimates. I was waiting for the numbers of starved to death bodies recovered…. Predator/prey numbers cycle up and down normally. We generally do not know what to attribute it to, nor do we generally even try. Some periods there are lots of hawks in an area, other periods lots of mice. I vaguely recall being taught predator/prey equations as a freshman example of coupled differential equations.
