That's a reaction Ratty, not an explanation? Reaction is like leaving the house because wifey gets upset the loo seat is up. Explanation is like admitting your a sub-human fk-wit for doing it 👍🏻

All the moisture is going south or north of UK atm. Where it does go, there's alot of it! Flooding Spain and Italy for example.

Admin Note: When I clicked your Windy link, it took me to my local area and I suspect that would be the same for others so I have posted a link that shows your area, Flea: .... it's a world/area map as close in or as far away as you like ..

Maybe Flea. Its the location of a Euro High around UK vicinity which is pushing westerlies north and south of us.
Maybe that's related to gulfstream, or, to be more specific...location of ssta in North Atlantic. Certain ssta patterns do offer greater likelihood of some types of synoptic conditions in Europe.
However, given we had a pretty wet, cool spring thus far, I'd be happy to just say its the seasons way of balancing out.
Spain was really hot while we were cool/wet, now we're warm/dry they're getting drenched!
Also the time frames are a little short to call this an persistent pattern as a result of something, we'll see if this dominates through the summer. It may all change in 10 days back to cool/wet and we'll be wondering if that's due to cold Atlantic ssta.
It is very anomalous tho that cold blob, not seen anything like that since 2015?
Here's an animation I did of that event using nullschool.

Is the Newfoundland current spreading southward more than normal? And the N Atlantic has dropped by -0.3C in the last month or so.
