I occasionally see canned fiddleheads in the store. rarely They’re all over my property “upstate”. Unfortunately we’re going to be unable to go back until they’re done. We did harvest a nice pile of ramps which are absolutely delicious. We’re roasting some tonight with asparagus from our backyard 😎

I did a web search on eating native Prairie grass seed ... just like wheat(?) ... and I didn't find a single thing EXCEPT for this. In a pinch, I have 40 acres of native prairie grass I could harvest. Nothing suggesting that prairie grass seeds are toxic to people.

Sources for perennial edible plants. Currently sold out ... but come spring. Many varieties that probably never crossed your mind to eat. Probably never even saw any.
