If I read the entrails correctly, the Republicans have narrowly taken control of the House, with the Senate still Democrat controlled.
This represents paralysis for the Biden administration, so two years of lame incoherent quacking to come.
Over that period, I think a major recession is likely, with huge political and economic effects all over the world. Perhaps the crypto-currency disasters now unfolding are symptomatic of these effects.
Left wing parties, including the Democrats, will mostly own the disasters.[The UK Conservatives might be the Right_wing [?] exception].
Meanwhile in Australia, insanity piles on insanity as the Federal and State governments compete to see who can destroy our energy grid the quickest.

People will put things on Biden's desk and he'll sign where they tell him. Those measures may not stand forever, but it'll take six months to a year for each of them to come before a court and MAYBE get blocked (remember not even all the "vaccine" mandates died they way they should have). In that time they'll do a huge amount of damage.
I do suspect you're right that Congress is in for two years of paralysis, but we're in a place now where that doesn't matter much.

It seems to take a clear-cut existential crisis to either right a sinking ship ... or to sink it. About every four generations if you subscribe to "turnings theory". The Great Depression seriously sobered America. Said depression and WWII did the same for Europe. As much as I hate the idea, we may need to absolutely crash before the marginal Woke awake. Let the bastards freeze and starve in the dark while hiding in their urban hovels from the roving zombie gangs. And the survivors' hearts and minds will follow. In two years time there needs to be no doubt who the enemy is. There may be nothing more lethal in society than a bunch of semi-guilty "used-to-haves" figuring out WHO is responsible (other than themselves) for their current situation. Last tango in the big and midling apples. Tally-ho!

While you might have spent the weekend marveling at the cost of a turkey, Joe Biden celebrated his 80th birthday by signing the U.S. up to a plan that could eventually commit Americans to transferring trillions of dollars to the rest of the world in perpetuity.

thehill.com/opinion/white-house/3738630-biden-reaches-for-his-pen-and-undermines-separation-of-powers/"Faced with a Congress that would not endorse his expansive regulatory agenda, President Obama famously remarked, “I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone.” Almost 10 years later, governing by executive fiat continues." "In the modern era, successive presidents have illegally expanded the scope and size of monuments under the act. Recent presidents have decided that the law not only protects “objects” in ordinary parlance but also entire ecosystems. In doing so, they jettisoned the act’s limits. For example, in 2016, Obama set aside almost 1.35 million acres in Utah as the Bears Ears National Monument, vastly more than needed to protect specific antiquities." *"But under our system of government, significant policy decisions must be made by Congress. The president and executive branch are limited to the execution and enforcement of laws. This separation of powers is fundamental. Elected representatives in Congress are directly accountable to the people they represent and are best situated to deliberate upon and assess the tradeoffs of any given policy. At times the legislative process may seem cumbersome. But this is a feature, not a bug — it is not supposed to be easy to impose significant policies upon the American public."*
