Maybe Xi’s visit to California is for house hunting.

This would seem to be unnecessary as the Democrats already have a working system in place ....

Hard economic times in China?

Very Hard times in China. Ignore the headline, I have learned Youtube blesses the algorithms that "shock". But Tony speaks Mandarin, is married to a Chinese National and is boots on the ground living in China. The last segment of the video deals with comments allegedly made by Xi Ping Pong to Biden. If the sources are valid it seems Xi has ordered the military to complete plans for an invasion of Taiwan by no later than 2027. It seems the clock is ticking.
In light of all this Lindsey Graham said that he will “create a robust defense supplemental for Taiwan and second, draft pre-invasion sanctions from hell to impose on China if they take action to seize Taiwan.”
It seems the clock is ticking and its just a matter of months...

Lindsay Graham thinks US sanctions are effective. 20 years ago, potentially very Today? They wouldn't be. I don't know, there is a lot of "made in China" cheap junk entering our nation every year. Who is going to buy all that junk if the US and Europe punish China with sanctions? I guess they could build a few more vacant cities and keep some people employed for a few more years...

5 years of consistent and steep stock market declines would already be judged as a kind of "collapse" by American standards. But for some reason Internet lore always affords China special status as our god-like landlords who will win the Olympics and call our treasury bonds. These are the same Chinese who have a median household income about equal to Mexico's.

China is in a world of economic hurt. Much of the wealth obtained in China over the last 30 years was squandered building "cities to nowhere" and it will take years if not decades for the market to catch up to the supply. The Trump administration exposed many of their unfair trade practices and foreign investment is flowing out of the nation at a record pace. Youth unemployment is astronomical. The demographics are poor as the one child policy has created a much smaller generation that will have to feed its much bigger predecessors. Covid exposed the dangers of having to much economic exposure to China and developed nations around the world are decoupling and re-shoring manufacturing capabilities away from China home or to more "friendly" options.
Now unemployment is on the rise, people are leaving the cities due to a lack of work.
In the face of these economic challenges their government has grown more belligerent towards their neighbors in Taiwan, the Philippines and elsewhere. You do not have to be Nostradamus to see the fact that the worse things get economically in China the more internal unrest it will cause. The CCP will blame "external forces" for their issues and a bad situation is going to get worse.
China will not have the time to wait to the forecasted 2027 date to take Taiwan. It will likely happen within the next two years...

I humbly disagree. China's history is not of conquest through force.
Most of the world supports China/Russia. I won't indicate that I think it is the correct thing to do, however, it is reality today.
BRICS countries are the least developed. That is where the growth lies.
What may through a wrench in this is AI.

What may through a wrench in this is AI. Time will tell. But Xi has commented publicly that he plans on "reunifying" Taiwan so I don't know how this can be done peacefully. I am pretty sure the vast, vast majority of Taiwan's population does not want to be reunited so I can't see a peaceful process being a realistic scenario. I am not a military strategist either but considering the current stress on our war machine supporting both Ukraine and Israel if there was ever a time for China to take Taiwan it would be soon. I think the very fact that Senator Graham is preparing sanctions for this possibility speaks volumes. It sends a message to Beijing that we will most likely not interfere militarily and will do exactly what we did to Russia. Impose sanctions. I think history has taught us that when a dictator says he is going to "take" something. They usually do... www.nbcnews.com/news/china/xi-warned-biden-summit-beijing-will-reunify-taiwan-china-rcna130087

What may through a wrench in this is AI. Are you sure about this? Maybe you are right but I think that Russia's neighbors somewhat fear Russia. China's neighbors fear China, and I think hate them. Most of the rest of the world is generally ambivalent to both. If Russia and China are viewed in any positive light it is only in contrast with the Zionist controlled US empire of lies which they truly despise.
