We will see a lot of this argument over the next few months (years?). The Pigs are beginning to feel trapped and are conjuring up new "science" to save the AGW farm. They may remember that pigs are required to make bacon and must find a way to save their fat butts. The convoluted logic that emerges during this period should be fascinating. Thus it may deserve its own thread. For Glenn: You are the ground zero example from last winter that they are trying to explain away. A brief summary of this is contained in an Electroverse article. They will have more problems coming. Expect much more excitement and angry extremists. If we let them win this seemingly undefendable premise, then shame on us. electroverse.net/extreme-cold-now-a-result-of-global-warming-texas-2021-the-year-without-100f/

Raw surface temp data shows that earth has been cooling for years. temperature.global/Odd that the outliers which are dropped are apparently never urban heat island stations, as we might have expected.

Heat does NOT beget cold, instead, high solar activity begets heat and low solar activity begets cold.

See my post in winter 21-22 If we get a cold NH and Arctic follows thus trend: Amplification is going to seem irrelevant.

We'll be down to burning "researchers at University College London". Seems appropriate somehow. Imagine this policy in place this winter (just an example). "After 2050, the authors say the only thing we should still be using fossil fuels for is aviation and feedstock for the petrochemical industry." I'm sure that Britons (and University College researchers) would be perfectly happy to be burning the combustible elements of their civilization to stay warm. These people are the "Nut Jobs" of the current Fourth Turning. Although a system of underground bunkers is probably possible in 30 years for the New Morlocks. The researchers probably imagine themselves as Eloi. To Americanize their conclusion ... It's imperative we find an economically viable way to keep fossil fuels University College Researchers buried in the ground, as that is now the only sure way to save lives and livelihoods.

But those would be VERY important BTUs. Like "the shot heard round the world". Burying the researchers, while not very Christian, would garner larger headlines. But would probably attract the attention of the "World Court".

If the globe gets any "warmer" were going to freeze to death! The silver lining from the damage caused by hurricane Nickolas last week is there is plenty of firewood available on every corner in my neighborhood to help protect us from freezing to death due to AGW.

If the globe gets any "warmer" were going to freeze to death! The silver lining from the damage caused by hurricane Nickolas last week is there is plenty of firewood available on every corner in my neighborhood to help protect us from freezing to death due to AGW. Better collect a goodly portion of it. The Politico-Collegio cartel is desperate and are grasping at straws. Their cash-cow mantra is collapsing. It is becoming easier to show that the planet's tropical heat engine (largely from the sun) overwhelms the heat at the poles ... and, in fact, is the source for much of that polar heat. As solar radiation(output) across its spectra decline in solar minima, atmospheric pressure patterns change and the equatorial-polar distribution pattern shifts from latitudinal to longitudinal. It is these distributional patterns that largely control our weather ... particularly the extremes. The poles do not have enough energy to force anything (just like CO2). Most people (hopefully) are not so dim and distracted that they do not remember global warming and its supposed cause. This has changed to the more amorphous "climate change", but it cannot abandon CO2 heating, as without it, they are without a human-driven cause. The convolutions in logic are becoming increasingly unbelievable. I am assuming that last winter's cold wave opened some eyes in Texas. And as that filters down to, and becomes painful for, more of the general population, the cartel is ultimately dead. They shouldn't expect roses on their graves.

And not a mention of Father Sol and longitudinal flow.

The folks experiencing those past events were self reliant. Urban culture is completely dependent on “systems”. That works right up until the moment it doesn’t.
