This is real Schiff. About 39 minutes into this he discusses the origins of the creative statistics that we call the current CPI. And a Grantham followup. Bunny rabbits and daffodils ...

Generally I am against big government social(ist) programs. But investment in kids is an exception that I think makes economic sense, and more largely, may be the right thing to do. The following article makes some good points and I think it's relatively small cost should be funded by eliminating whole (worthless) sections of the Federal government. I'll support the kids over the bureaucrats any day of the week. Of course, I would also support a return of the old Commodity Foods Program. It may be less efficient than food stamps (and grocers would complain mightily), but food stamps have MUCH more corruption. Food security is an important government priority. In a food-rich country, no child should go hungry. Who cares if a few potatoes are pilfered. Those old #10 tins of freeze-dried eggs, broken up into small packages, made wonderful backpacking supplies.

Lord. I was reluctant to click on a National Democratik Public Radio link. What a disingenuous argument. You want to end childhood hunger? Bring our jobs back. Pretty simple.

A picture is worth a thousand words. A 10 ft joint of PVC from Home Depot 14 months ago compared with the exact same purchase yesterday.

Starting to sound like a Hank Williams Jr. song out there economically with rates going up and stock market down. We have WTI over 120 a barrel. Fertilizer at stupid high levels and inflation eating away at our savings. Can't help but wonder if this entire bubble we have been riding on is about to pop?

As the pieces fall into place, the Ukraine war cannot be causing this much inflation. This has now become a controlled demolition of the economy. The federal reserve bank is now your mortal enemy whether you realize it or not.
