Could it be done on naval vessels now? Especially nuke powered? Probably not, nuclear power is dirty, I'm thinking sail, wind powered or a bunch of rowers. [ Snip ]
Ooh, you are awful .....

July 3 is the 160th anniversary of Picket's Charge at the Battle of Gettysburg. While not the best video I've ever seen, the American Battlefield Trust is doing an important job (in my opinion) and provides a good overview of the battlefield terrain. I and my son were there for the 150th where we reenacted with the 22nd North Carolina. We had 8 ancesors (collateral lines) on the field with Virginia, Alabama and North Carolina units. Two were killed, two were wounded, and one was captured. In general, a bad day.

Originally built here on Long Island. Two of my friends worked in their production. Fairchild-Republic’s factory was less than a mile from where I work and Grumman was here too. All gone now🙁. I’ve seen pairs of them flying low and slow over my head several times in Arizona. I love that plane! The Gatling gun is incredible.

Wonder if they have a "trench-buster" model.

I saw them used several times during the "war games" when I was in the army in the 80's. low altitude wingovers then drop the bombs.
