Been thinking about what to do with cash lately. If you owe banks a lot of money that yields a return of say 6% and your fixed for 3 years at 3.5% we know this will all fly to pieces soon at which point the only way out for every Govt. is inflation. Where is the risk outside of the yield, the upside is a falling in real terms mortgage. I am buying an oilfield with friends currently is that a mad thing to do?? Its a producing asset is this an assets with a long term outlook??? "Been thinking about what to do with cash lately."
So have I, so have I.
Reality 1. Fossil fuels are far from dead 2. OKE pays a handsome dividend. 3. PLUG has potential, as hydrogen is a better energy source than batteries. Forklifts etc are a large market. 4. Financial PRU is a large company with a diverse portfolio. Dividend isn't too bad either. 5. ADM. Dividend sucks, but potential capitalization of stock price. Food and ethanol oriented. 6. Technically NAVDIA has no Dividend. Any income would have to be through capitalization. Pretty sound company platform so capitalization expected.

Bond market crashing this morning. Not a good trend, as 10% Joe and the Democrats have no concept of debt service.
The US debt continues to explode.

There are sophisticated strength test models, but I think that probably no one knows where the breaking point actually is. And of course that depends on other economic factors.
The US began onto a new fiscal and monetary path in the early 1970's. It worked ok when the adults were in charge.

www.politico.com/news/2023/01/13/house-gop-government-spending-goals-00077762And that funding work is one of the few items Congress has to accomplish this year as part of basic governing. While lawmakers had always expected appropriations would be a struggle this term, the spending concessions negotiated by Speaker Kevin McCarthy and his conservative foes have raised members’ blood pressure. Those House GOP demands could set the stage for a government shutdown, unless
