If we do not begin to formally organize ourselves, they will terrorize us one at a time with their various alphabet agencies. It's past time to act, we need something like a citizens union. A problem that I see is that our side are not natural joiners. We tend to be individualistic, and we tend not to take orders well. Many chiefs but few indians. Truly the left is doing a much better job at organizing themselves. I listened to some of the Zello calls for the purpose of organization prior to Jan 6. And I heard what it was like on the ground there. If we call that a first attempt at organizing/regimenting for some decisive action, then I'd say that we have big problems. If it looked like a clusterfuck on tv, well from what I've heard, it was. Our side were herded around like puppies, and frankly to complain that FBI plants tricked us and directed us is simply embarrassing.
In a nutshell, Walnut. I was active once but I dropped out of political involvement in the mid 1980s after an experience that was a forerunner of what we have now: It should have motivated me! I was running a small business and an office bearer in my local branch of our Liberal (conservative) Party. At one convention, there was a motion put by the Albion (Brisbane) branch along these lines: The motion was soundly defeated by a show of hands! No need for a ballot. Looking around at individuals I knew or was acquainted with, I realised that many there were teachers and public servants. Rudi Dutschke's long march was well underway. That's a good story Ratty, very revealing actually.
I'm not politically active myself.

I was running a service station: Up at sparrow fart to unlock the pumps at 7AM, home at 6:30PM after locking up. Then there was children's sport at weekends, debating in the evenings, involvement in the school P&C, etc. I was also playing competitive squash. Later days at the service station, I started writing a maintenance history program (dBase III+) to keep tabs on the fleets we serviced; then it was home at night, eat, watch a little TV then down to the computer. I eventually bought Clipper to compile the code and the application was sold to the repair trade, attached to a local accounting package. I also did a fuel management program to compare pump meter readings to dips and relate that to sales through the till. (It's no wonder I am worn out now ... )

many I talk to regard the election in 10 months as pivotal and the erosion of democracy is becoming concerning. "You vote socialists in but have to shot them out" many are looking willing to achieve this goal. Same here .... we are wall-to-wall socialists at the moment with the exception of Tasmania where the governing party is LINO. ** ** In Oz, our used-to-be conservatives are called Liberals or Nationals (LNP) but everything is listing Left. It's all right Ratty. Let's have a go at them.

I would say that 99% of the people ln the UK don't have a gun and have no interest in owning one. I did have an air pistol as a teenager but soon got fed up of target practice and started shooting at drainpipes which didn't go down well with the locals.

yeah we much preferer hand to hand with axes and swords or silent crossbows... The Home Guard always DID look cheerful in those WWII photos, despite being armed with things that were obsolete before the prior war...

In Texas 2000 rounds would not even be considered abnormal. Especially .22 I wonder if he is going to get tossed in the same cell block reserved for the most heinous criminals who use offensive speech on social media or deny the Holocaust?
