Nodding Towards NeverLand. Peter Pan and Jack Dorsey are cousins. And New York City, St. Louis, and so many others would be so much safer as an NFT ... fed via tube to the hinterland. Then when all things virtualize, so does the tube.
Perhaps while they are waiting.

“The ordinary person is constantly being lectured and disparaged by intellectuals rooted in academia where Democrats massively outnumber Republicans. It is useful, lest there be some misunderstanding, to stress that I believe that intellectuals, including professors, can be a good thing. Indeed, they are essential to the development of civilization. I am one myself. There is nothing I love to do more than study the great philosophers, psychologists, social theorists and literary figures. However, intellectuals have certain inherent limitations. First, they tend to think they know more than they do. More important, they tend to believe that their intellectual accomplishments make them morally superior to less educated people, hence the contempt expressed by so many in our “elites” for Hillary’s “basket of deplorable” in “flyover country”.” www.americanthinker.com/articles/2022/02/on_the_alleged_moral_superiority_of_intellectuals.html

I am looking for the particulars, but I think I like this chancellor. Next step should be to selectively fire a few ... tenure first.

How The World Really Works
How the World Really Works
The Science Behind How We Got Here and Where We're Going by Vaclav Smil In this ambitious and thought-provoking book we see, for example, that globalization isn’t inevitable—the foolishness of allowing 70 per cent of the world’s rubber gloves to be made in just one factory became glaringly obvious in 2020—and that our societies have been steadily increasing their dependence on fossil fuels, such that any promises of decarbonization by 2050 are a fairy tale. For example, each greenhouse-grown supermarket-bought tomato has the equivalent of five tablespoons of diesel embedded in its production, and we have no way of producing steel, cement or plastics at required scales without huge carbon emissions.

But here's the problem: most don't want to learn how the World works; they want some kind of paradise and they don't care how that works, or if it works at all. They're like kids who want a pony and the fact that they live on the 8th floor of an apartment block in downtown Metropolis isn't going to stop them nagging and throwing tantrums to get it!

www.americanthinker.com/articles/2022/06/selling_global_warming_to_eskimos_.html“Why do we have every appearance that there is no actual climate crisis, while seeing growing evidence of where the actual disinformation is found in this issue? Because prominent enviro-activists, along with unquestioning policymakers, both enabled by a complicit mainstream media, are not providing fact-based information that fully informs the public. They are instead selling all of us one of the most false premise, deceptive, and disingenuous narratives in history. Selling refrigerators to all of us Eskimos, in other words.”

We used to have greater and more damaging extremes of heat, cold, and drought. A few years ago we had a big rainfall event lasting a few weeks. A couple of cold winters hitting fairly extreme lows. That's about it. So I need to be constantly reminded that we are in a major crisis, and I appreciate that they are keeping me aware of that.

Here, it's a reminder a minute: There is rarely a news bulletin that doesn't mention 'climate change' or 'crisis' in words that imply 'settled'. Between bulletins, you can expect more reinforcement, either by direct reference or obliquely.

If you tell a lie often enough and loud enough people will believe it, and the bigger the lie helps makes it more convincing. The problem is once told there's no going back
