It seems that there are geopolitical storm clouds on the horizon and the future looks darker than it has in years. In Europe yet another war is raging that seems likely to get worse before it gets better. Russia, Germany and other nations are rapidly rearming. In Asia, China has pretty much anointed Xi Ping Pong as Emperor and he is saber rattling with Taiwan and other nations in the South China Sea. And here in the US we are hell bent on fiscal suicide, wokeness and two party political insanity where we are about to nominate an elderly incumbent clearly in the early stages of dementia and narcissistic yankee who at best is unpredictable and borderline dangerous.
I try to be an optimist but the future looks shaky...

Not to mention erosion of traditional demographics and culture. In UK its only Cornwall now that I've visited where I feel English like one might have pre-2010. Everywhere else feels like an international departure lounge. 6.5% of this country is Muslim, they're forming political parties thecritic.co.uk/the-rise-and-rise-of-sectarian-politics/Imagine a world where you lose your heritage and culture to an invasion from within. Not a "popular" opinion but really, there may come a time when it's not wars abroad that are most troubling....

Not a "popular" opinion but really, there may come a time when it's not wars abroad that are most troubling.... Mr Twain suggested that history often rhymes. Native Americans might agree, but they were very heavily outnumbered. "Native" population displacement is a common historical theme. Those who are not "moved out" are often Lorded over. Certainly during the Anglo-Saxon migrations. The Celtic cousins in Brittany were the displaced. The first Med wave of Islamic expansion just ran out of steam before it got to y'all. Having lived amongst Muslims they are generally alright as individuals and families ... until a Fatwa gets issued with your name on it. When you have a solid (effective) majority, that can be irritating or inconvenient. But ...

I remember getting a little sightseeing tour of those ladyboys in Bandung, Indonesia in the mid 90's. They were a local curiosity tolerated by the otherwise fairly conservative people. By the way, that's an incredibly strange Reuters article....

By the way, that's an incredibly strange Reuters article.... I made it to Bali in the 90's. One of the Royals had died and the funeral was interesting. No ladyboys, but lots of pedlers on the beaches. Hindu's are mostly pretty laid back.

If Captain Parker was still with us, he would probably join this group. I just volunteered.

It seems we are just days or hours away from an Iranian attack on Israel of some kind. This likely event will certainly strain our ability to supply Ukraine. The Chinese have to be looking at Taiwan and licking their lips. If Xi Ping Pong is serious about his threats to re-unite Taiwan with the mainland by 2027 this may be his best opportunity.
History may not be repeating itself but it is rhyming and the new Axis powers are China, Russia and Iran.

A fiery shroom could engulf the Hidden Imam.
